Niagara Bishop Dedicates Rockwood Parish Hall

Right Rev. W E Bagnall of Niagara led confirmation rites for 21 candidates at Acton St Alban's Anglican Church and dedicated the adjacent Parish Hall in Rockwood. The 30 by 30 foot stucco building will serve as a Sunday School space and meeting venue for the women's auxiliary and choir practice.

Steel Beams Fall From Truck East of Town

A Standard Iron and Steel Works Ltd. truck toppled as 12 tons of steel beams spilled onto the road east of town. Driver Sim Neilson escaped unharmed despite the hazard and a curious local child questioned the driver. A crane from Toronto assisted, and by early afternoon the rig was reloaded and resumed its trip to Guelph.

Delegates Head to Ohio Convention for Centennial

Acton Y M C A delegates travel to the Centennial International Convention in Cleveland to mark 100 years of service to North American youth. Bramosa Two Lay Building Charges by Township Council

Eramosa Township Council at a May 22 special meeting approved laying charges for by law infractions. The building inspector reeve and clerk were ordered to obtain legal advice as part of possibly raising building standards. Six extra street lights will be contracted upon Eden Malls Trustees' request. The Health Unit will be asked to condemn housing deemed unfit for habitation.
