Acton wins District 4 CWOSSA field day at Milton
Acton District High School led the District 4 CWOSSA field day at Ontario School for the Deaf Milton last Thursday with a 30 point margin finishing 176 points ahead of OSD 146 Arthur 144 Erin 120 Elora 4 St Davids 25. Top three in each event advance to CWOSSA B finals at University of Guelph this Saturday. Donna Moore dominated girls midget events winning running long jump 17 90 inches and placing in other sprints. Junior and senior girls posted multiple top finishes with Cathy Dunn Cathy Ashley Irene Severenski and others earning medals in hurdles jump and dash events. Dale Fisher and Randy Coker led midget boys with wins in triple jump and one mile race respectively as well as multiple second places.

Three Actonians Injured in Two Car Collision
Five people were injured in a Sunday head on crash five miles north west of Georgetown. Gordon James of Acton and his mother in law Mrs. Margaret Louttet were in one car with serious injuries while Mrs. James and Mr. James head chest and leg injuries. Herbert Oliver of Shelburne and his passenger Robert Fendley of Glen Williams were in the other car with chest facial injuries and head lacerations. Damages were estimated at 1500 dollars per vehicle. Mrs. Loutter and Mrs. James were listed as hospitalized with multiple injuries.

Lad hit by car to leave hospital

Three Jocal Residents Injured In One Car Crash
On Friday May 2 a single vehicle crash on the first line Nassagawega south of No 2 Sideroad left three people injured. Gary Taillefer of Acton suffered bruises Carol Bruce of Eden Mills had facial lacerations and Gary Humeniuk of Acton injured his back. The car sustained about $2 000 damage and was investigated by North Hatton O P P with Taillefer listed as the driver.
