The Burlington Board of Education announced J. W. Singleton as director of education and D. S. Lawless as superintendent of public schools for the county. Both will assume duties in August as enrolment grows to over 10 000 pupils across 20 schools and 350 teachers. The move aims to place inspection at the public school level separate from the county inspectorate to improve control.
The Credit Valley Conservation Authority offered 40000 to buy Belfountain Park awaiting approval from Ontario Minister William Nickle. William Rogers of Belfountain agrees to sale. The 22 acre site features lodge cottages dam grotto and nature trails attracting many visitors.
