Recollections of Acton 1900 Fire and Tanning Accident Report
The 1900 Acton notes record assessors completing work, shade trees planted, a sixteen-person Toronto party expected, and a severe hand crush at Beardmore Co tannery with no bone injuries. A catastrophic fire at Brookville destroys homes and property including Dr Bell and Dr McTaggart residences, stables, sheds, and a storehouse. The old willow landmark is removed for Warren block excavation. A wedding at St Joseph's Church unites Robert McPher-son and Margaret Gibbons. A golf club forms in Acton with officers named. Other items include store stock move, a Goderich farm sale, and local obituaries and births.
