Farm Barn and Contents Destroyed by Fire
Fire of unknown origin destroyed the Norm an three ralles farm barn and all contents Tuesday morning. The blaze, discovered about five o clock, consumed two connected barns with cows calves and equipment inside. Loss estimated 25 000 to 30 000 insured. Nearby outbuildings saved. embers endangered fences and trees. Norman Douglas had started farming a year earlier after returning from service in the Canadian army.

Corporal Mason Transferred to Brantford Area
A Milton area police official, Corp Ray Mason of the Ontario Provincial Police, has been posted to the Brantford detachment. He previously served as a traffic officer in Acton and Milton, and has been active in local sports and youth programs. The move was announced last week and is hoped to be temporary.

Halton Presbytery of the United Church met in Lowville with Rev C WR Albright as chairman. Rev AF Mercer was elected chairman for the next conference year. The group heard reports on Evangelism and Social Service and urged church members to push for better film standards and oppose Sunday commercialism. Thieves entered Larner Motors on Bower Avenue and Marn Streets, stealing cash and other articles after breaking a window. A separate attempt at Vann Wyck Cleaners on Ma Street failed when a rear door hasp was forced yet access was gained only via another door, with a large iron bar knocked over and cement floor damaged.

Four Campbellville farmers fined for tax offences and theft case
Four Campbellville farmers were fined 25 dollars and 3 dollars costs after pleading guilty to failing to file income tax returns for 1H6 7 8. In default they faced 15 days in jail, with some given a month to pay. A separate case saw William Drow, 20, sentenced to nine months detention and three months indefinite for taking a car owned by F H Thomson of Acton without consent. The court considered sending him to the Brampton Trade School for rehabilitation.
