Ballinafad blacksmith shop tales recall Ferguson family roots
Miss Beatrice Hilts recalls Ballinafad history from 1686 days at Blue Mountain school. The piece describes the Ferguson family running a frame blacksmith shop on the south corner near the seventh line, a hotel, a mill, and later brickwork by local builders. It follows family moves, shop closures, and property changes up through the 1960s.
