New Halton Urban Board Sets Stage For 20 Member Election
An open meeting in Milton outlined plans to replace local boards with a provincially funded 20 member Halton board. Jim Snow highlighted amalgamating 1400 boards, centralized purchasing, and broader tax base sharing. Leadership Seminar At Oakville Draws Local Delegates
A leadership seminar was held on March 15 16 and 17 at the Queen Elizabeth Motel Oakville with delegates from the North Hyltan Association for the Mentally Retarded led by William Ferguson president. Attendees included Mrs Edith Hartland Mrs F Now Acton Mrs Bruce Corderington Mrs Diane Wood Milton and Mrs Joan Mitchell of Sun Shine School. Local groups plan support including the Catholic Women's League of Holy Rosary Milton sponsoring Harmony Symphony Orchestra concert March 31 and the Milton Fire Department with police set an annual broomball game April 21 at Milton Arena.
