William Turnbull Dies at 88 in Bowers Corners
Word was received of the death at Bowers Corners of William O. Turnbull aged 88. He was a bachelor. Brothers Joseph Turnbull of Galt and Thomas Turnbull of Clyda survive. Mrs Thomas Morfant of Acton is a sister. Funeral arrangements will be held at Kirkwall.

Nassagaweya Council Cuts Poll Tax to Two Dollars
At a Monday meeting Nassagaweya Council approved a tax report as correct and praised 1935 tax payments. The poll tax was reduced from $2.50 to $2.00 and a diverted property with back taxes was authorized for action. Simpson and Robertson discussed their Toronto Municipal Convention visit. Council adjourned to meet April 6 at 1 PM.

School Board's Brief Session on Transportation and Finance
At a Tuesday meeting the trustees reviewed the third Finance Committee report approving several accounts including Acton Public Ounties and Canadian National freight. A letter from Mrs. George R. Agmew lauded the boards role in transporting high school pupils for orchestral work. The board asked police to coordinate with provincial authorities over a school entry incident and said costs should be borne by the police. A coal car delivery to the schools was noted and non resident pupil fees were reviewed.

London boxer dies after bout in Toronto tournament
Pat Flanagan of London Ontario knocked out Fred Matthews of Armfield Quebec in a novice white hope boxing event in Toronto. Matthews remained unconscious for 72 hours and died after a drain operation. An inquest was ordered into the death.
