Acton secured another group title in 1936 Intermediates by defeating Oakville in both games. The second period saw a referee lose control as the match ended decisively with Acton ahead by two goals, helping them advance to the play downs.
Acton clinched the group championship in hockey after a 4 1 win over Oakville Intermediates. The match featured rough play and strong goaltending from Good and Greer with key actions from Lindsay Morton and Gibbons. Referee Lamport penalties and a late rally did not prevent Acton from finishing ahead as the crowd stayed engaged through a cold night.
Play-off games set with Acton meeting Fergus at Acton Arena tomorrow night. Referee Johnny Jones of Guelph to officiate both games. Second game to be in Fergus Monday night. Fergus eliminated Stratford in two games to win the group.

Tea poured by Mrs Jas Symon and Mrs P A Smith. Committee heads included Mrs P W Pearen and Mrs J C Matthews.
Fred Alexander appeared in Acton Police Court on Thursday afternoon and was sentenced to three months in jail. The charge was obstructing the police in the performance of their duty. Alexander had already spent three weeks awaiting trial.
The Dublin Literary Society hosted an echo school and amateur contest chaired by Vice-President Walter Linham. Judges Rev. W U Bennie Mrs Hi Mainprize and Miss V B Rumsey awarded junior prizes to Dorothy Steele Wilda McGlaughlin and others for vocal duets and readings. The senior prize went to Mira Peter Medsauc and Mrs John Clack in full costume with a pioneer day reading.

Ajax Engineers Limited completes relocation of its plant from Liberty Street Toronto to Acton by April 1. The maker of wood and steel construction equipment expands to a cement-floored, heatingless building with space for tanks drums ponds pipes towers and radio towers. The firm, descendant of Ontario Wind Engine and Pump Co. Ltd., serves pulp chemical textile tanning brewing and power sectors and will staff Acton with some staff commuting from Toronto.
Chris Swackhamer sustained a broken nose during a Saturday afternoon hockey match between Unity Men's Club and Lorne School at the Arena. The injury occurred in a scramble for the puck and required specialist treatment and X rays, though he is now reported to be recovering.
Frenchy Leveque’s barrel jumping highlighted a lively performance fair. A large crowd attended in spite of bad weather, with many varied costumes and a splendid musical program from the band.

Monday night games featured York Road Rockwood Line a 2–1 victory, Limehouse Eden Mills 1–1, and Rockwood Bulldogs 8–2 over Lorne Rifles. Protests awarded two points to several teams and forced a replay of a Rockwood York Road match. A playoff format for the top six teams was announced.
Regular monthly Women’s Institute meeting set for Thursday March 5 at 2 30 pm at Mrs Wilderspin’s home. Tickets on sale for “The Arizona Cowboy” with performances on March 4 and 6. Knox Church Ladies Aid hosts a Baking Sale Saturday March UK with a cup of iva.
Plans completed for a minstrel show to be staged at Acton Town Hall on March 26 and 27 by John B. Rogers Producing Company. The act features high class amateur talent from nearby towns with professional directors arriving to supervise rehearsals. elaborate costumes and stage equipment will be provided.
