Halton game warden R M Reid announced a complete survey of Fairy Lake Acton by the Department of Lands and Forests. The study will cover lake contour water temperature and oxygen content with plans to stock fish. Library Keeps Open Throughout Summer Vacation
Readers welcome the decision as the library remains open all summer. Last year the library closed two weeks in July for the first time in its history. At the final meeting before September the library board voted to maintain regular open nights during vacation with substitutes filling in for absent librarians.
Esquesing Township to pay share of Kelso dam costs
Esquesing Township agrees to pay 10 percent of the dam costs for the Kelso conservation area totaling just over $16,000 after a prior motion of non payment. Representatives met with the Sixteen Mile Creek Conservation Authority in Milton and were told the motion came after the day protest period. The council also sought solicitor advice on closing the Norval Anglican Church cemetery and moving stones to a cairn at the new cemetery. A road grader is to be purchased and plans discussed to move houses and cottages to township sites. Further action requested to obtain permission from Toronto.
