Sidewalks filled as six bands marched to Saturdays Band Tattoo in the park. About 1500 attended enjoying cool lake breezes and a fine program. Bands included Lorne Scots Georgetown Ac ton Fergus Brampton Oakville Sea Cadets Ajax Kitchener Light Anti Aircraft Fusiliers.

The M L C A held its annual meeting in the Y gymnasium with many members present. New board members were named by the nominating committee while core directors remain including the president and vice president. The group voted to expand the board to 16 and listed new appointees to youth and adult committees. The treasurer reported receipts of 5506.08 and expenses of 5176.19, leaving a balance of 208.00. industrial donations totaled 900 and salaries were adjusted for 200. The strengthening focus includes adult participation and plans for an adult lounge and additional activities such as marriage counseling and a model railway club.

Review of Pension Plan Sparks Special Meeting
Commission employees and the P A C discussed increasing pension benefits amid rising living costs. Secretary J Mc Geachie proposed a shared cost rise with employees assuming a larger portion. The plan currently costs employees 2.5 percent and the commission 7.5 percent. A special meeting was set to study the proposal further.

Eden Mills Brightens Park with Floodlit Softball Diamond
Eden Mills plans floodlighting for its five acre park's softball diamond by end of next month. Six poles and two transformers are erected, with 18 floodlights to be installed. A community club with broad local support funds the project debt free, backed by village trustees and residents.

Camp Fees Donation To Woodeden School At Orton Rotary

Picnic At Church Ends Mission Season
The Ulsted Church Mission Basa' clang picnic, for youngsters from pre school to 12 years, was held Tuesday afternoon. After devotions, children gathered on the lawn for games and races with prizes for winners. A supper provided by the WMS ladies was served on the lawn, concluding the summer program.
