Rare 1762 Canadian medal donated to Halton Museum display
The Halton County Museum in Kelso will display a solid silver 1762 medal inscribed in Latin and bearing King George II’s image. Loaned by Chief Peter Stevens’ family, the medal honors Indians who allied with Britain in 1762. Major Newman arranged the centennial display with help from local residents.

Acton Golden Age Club plans Blue Mountain trip and notes
Members discussed a day bus trip to Collingwood and vicinity on Aug 3 to tour Blue Mountain Potteries and Georgian China. A rhythm band committee was formed to buy instruments. A large quilt was displayed and prepared as a wedding gift for a niece. Senior citizens' benefits and nutrition, safety, and youth engagement were addressed by Mrs. Mercer, with a lunch served by Mrs. De Vries. About 50 members attended. two anniversaries noted for June.

Pioneer grist mill at Black Creek Village open for Civil War era visit
Visitors to Black Creek Pioneer Village will inspect Roblin's Mill an authentic pre Civil War grist and flour mill. Built in 1842 by Owen Roblin it stood at Ameliasburg Prince Edward County and powered by Roblin's Lake with a 40 foot head. During the Civil War the mill operated 24 hours a day hauling flour to Rednersville for American schooners, producing about 100 barrels daily.
