Mil l Pond clears as town bans swimming
Mil l Pond residents saw the end of a popular cooling spot as the council posted no swimming signs. The move followed safety concerns after a period of dips by locals including U of T graduate Brian Barbeau who later accepted a job in Toronto. A landscaping program valued at 1000 dollars is planned at the Martin Street end, with Rainbow Landscaping chosen. Silverwood Community Notes Move and Rain Welcome
Mr and Mrs James Barnes moved from Silverwood to Glen Williams this past week and were followed by Mr and Mrs W Geddie who purchased the Barnes home. Silverwood received 2 percent rainfall from Wednesday through Sunday, welcomed by farmers and gardeners. The last summer business meeting was held Thursday June 8 at Mrs Donald Linday s home with good attendance. President Mrs Henderson presided, substitute secretary Mrs H Scott for Mrs Corbett on a Expo trip. A social hour with apple cake ice cream tea and coffee closed the season as plans were made for future meetings.

Rescue club to start in EMO program this Saturday
