The District Board met in Georgetown High School to discuss adequate facilities and bus contracts for three towns. They reviewed tender submissions, agreed to honor 1950 contracts, and considered five year terms with yearly reviews.
The Acton Public School graduation banquet at the YMCA honored graduates with speeches by Fred Hamilton and remarks from Rev Currey R Parker and J Ang. Awards were given for student improvement and a painting donated to the school.

Mrs R Bowles driving without a license caused a crash at Mill and Wilbur Streets about 7 p m Friday June 15. While reversing the car struck a hydro pole causing about 35 10 damage to the pole and 125 to the car. Vehicle damage included left front fender rear fender and left running board.
Captain Shaver and Mrs. Shaver, leaders of the Salvation Army in Brampton, are ordered to move. Their last Brampton Sunday is June 24, with arrival at a new appointment by June 28, location to be advised. He funded debt liquidation, oversaw citadel renovations, a neon sign, army band growth, a Fresh Air Camp, Cedar Mills and a residence purchase.

Acton Council learned the sewerage disposal plant would be in operation by September 15 after a special meeting with contractors and the engineer. Cement work, pipe fitting, and tank completion were outlined with delays blamed on supply damage and vandalism to cement bags and tiles. Repairs and settlement of charges with the construction company were to be finalized as crews proceed.
Acton Citizens Band under Bandmaster AL Perrot gave its first Sunday afternoon concert in Acton Park last Sunday. Over 30 members performed for an hour as more than 20 cars and local residents gathered to hear a varied program. Officials plan several Sunday concerts through the summer hoping for higher attendance.
In Acton division court Judge Robinson orders H V Dron to pay sewer and water charges totaling 4 43 within 11 days. The Public Utilities Commission sued after the tenant refused to pay new rates to fund sewer costs and water consumption. Co F Leatherland for PUC and W E West for Dron appeared.
Two vehicles collided at a tree lined intersection two miles north of Most last Wednesday. total damage near 1000 dollars. Constable J I Bradley of Milton Prov Police said trees were major cause. Mercury owned by Dr Clifford Young front end about 600 dollars. 1947 Hudson driven by Reid Marquess about 350 dollars. No injuries.
Mrs D Russell hosted the Churchill Woll meeting on Wednesday June FS. Sixteen people attended including 12 members and three visitors. With the president absent Mrs A Kerr chaired and Mrs F Freeman led devotions. They planned a Wherry social, elected committee fees, handled other business, observed a moment of silence for Miss Edna Roussel, and shared a pleasant tea.

The council opened a second tender for paving Mill and Main streets. Only R. J. Beamish Co. bid $4166. First call bids were rejected and companies were asked to retender. The project includes paving, curbing five blocks, raising manholes and storm sewers, and removing existing paving beside the curb.
The Elgin Street block between Church and Agnes will have wires and poles moved after an agreement between the Public Utilities Commission and Beardmore and Co. Wires will be placed underground and three poles moved to tenant yards. Beardmore and Co will fund install work excluding service hookup. The project to connect Beardmore plant access prompted a special meeting and council approval steps with the Department of Highways and road grants offsetting costs.
The monthly Dublin Women’s Institute meeting was held last Thursday at the home of Mr Calvin McIntyre. Mrs DT F Persuson presided as president. An od e and Maple Leaf were the supper dishes demonstrated by Mrs C J Van Goosen and samples were served. A contest was won by Mrs Alex Near and Mrs Melvin Storey. The hostess party provided refreshments with assistance from several members.
A late 19th century church backed chalkboard shows dark craven verse and fine lettering by Thomas Ebbare and Moore era Sunday School staff. The board, installed May 20 1893, served generations before screen cards and projectors replaced it.
