Board Announces Teaching Changes At Public School

Four Acton Residents Injured In Glass-Cut Accident
A car driven by Norman Turner of Acton failed to turn at a Cheltenham turn last Saturday. The vehicle rolled onto its side with a caved roof and smashed windshield. Local Provincials Capture Ont Reformatory Escapee
Constable Peter Kreklewich with help from Dry Brown captured an escapee from the Ontario Reformatory at Guelph after the man ordered a taxi for Toronto Monday night. The 19 year old from War Kyte, Toronto, fled after work in the grounds, was spotted near Eden Mills, then found in town and arrested at the railroad tracks. He was turned over to reform at the Ontario Reformatory and faces release in August after a nine month theft sentence.

Creek Dredging Progressing to Relieve Flood Hazard
Dredging along the creek from Fairy Lake to Beardmore Co began this week to reduce flood risk. Silting from sewer work raised water levels and damaged Lindsay's Mill and Beardmore Co. Regina Bros. widened the bed and formed ponds to trap silt. A previously installed dam near Main Street slowed water but did not fully resolve silting. Storm Construction Co. failed to progress, and Regina Bros. took over with plans to finish soon.
