The Scout Mothers Auxiliary held their monthly meeting at Mrs Van Goozen's home Monday evening. A fine program followed with readings by Mrs Des Suresault and Mrs Somerville and piano duets by Margaret and Fyfe Somerville. Mrs Somerville led a contest won by Mrs Romphi and Mrs Des Suresault. A vote of thanks was given to Mrs Van Goozen for her hospitality.

Boy 14 Used Knife on Calves at Lindsay Farm
A 14 year old employee at KC Lindsay’s farm near Lindsay Ontario slashed nine calves with a jack knife causing severe injuries. Constable Cookman found seven calves bleeding and two unable to move on the Lindsay farm. The boy admitted he rammed the knife into one calf and said he had just wanted to try out his new knife.

No Blame on Acton Driver in Bicycle Fatality
Brampton coroner's jury found no blame assigned to John P. Wright of Acton in the death of Alexander Maxwell of Toronto after Maxwell's bicycle, without rear light, was struck on No. 7 Highway east of Brampton on June 6. Evidence shows Maxwell rode west. Wright overtook and collided with the rear of the bike.

Acton Truck Collision Ends in Acquittal for Slysworth
Ernest Slysworth of Acton is acquitted of criminal negligence in the death of Lynn Baines after a two-truck crash near Acton on April 10. The inquest heard he drank three beers before the collision, but Judge W O Munro ruled the beer did not render him incapable of driving.
