Annual Parade and Church Service of Acton Legion
Acton Branch of the Canadian Legion held its annual parade and church service on Sunday evening. The Lorne Scots Band led a fine parade before and after the service at Acton Baptist Church where Rev. W. Wallace spoke on Faith and works. The congregation sang well and a post service band concert in the park drew a large crowd, with Bandmaster Dabney delivering an appealing program.

Scout Mothers Plan Picnic For Cubs And Scouts
The Scout Mothers' Auxiliary met at Mrs. George Desserault's home to plan a picnic on Thursday June 22 in the park. Ian Scouts Cubs and parents are invited for supper at 6 o'clock and evening sports. The group donated $5 to the National Institute for the Blind and arranged Cub equipment purchases for Jack Mainprize. A further infant clothing donation is planned for England and contributions were made toward the Scout insurance premium.
