Francescato Fined for Careless Driving After Main Street Collision
Eligio Francescato was fined 15.00 and costs in pollof court yesterday for careless driving after a collision on Main Street last Thursday. His car, traveling toward Guelph, turned left across the path of John Leishman’s vehicle, leaving Leishman with no chance to avoid impact. Chief Harrop investigated the accident.

Highway Overseer Dies Suddenly While Claiming Duty
Fred Hamilton of Rockwood a renowned highway overseer died Monday morning while at work east of Acton from a heart ailment. He had recently returned to duties on No. 7 Highway from Guelph to Brampton and was widely regarded as highly conscientious and capable. Funeral service was held at his residence with interment in Rockwood Cemetery.

Woman Injured as Car Turns on Highway East of Acton
Mrs. Schaffer of 1650 Bathurst Street Toronto sustained injuries when a car driven by her husband went out of control three miles east of Acton and overturned in a four foot ditch. Passengers John, a twelve year old son, and Cpl J W Arthur of Camp Borden were shaken but not seriously hurt. Witnesses cited speed around 30 mph and possible steering failure. Mrs. Schaffer was treated by Dr. Kenney and taken to Toronto hospital. Traffic Officer Hay Mason investigated the crash.
