Private funeral services were held for Hazel Elizabeth Stewart wife of Dean Leslie Desig at FDR Milton Friday July 18. Rev. Charles Cochrane presided. Interment followed Greenwood Cemetery Georgetown. Pallbearers included Frank MacIntosh Nell McEachern Walter Lawson Win Bowman Hazon Graham and Goldie Gilles. Neices flower bearers listed. many relatives attended from across Ontario and Quebec. Hazel born on Lot 2b Second Line daughter of James Stewart and Annie MacLean attended Dublin School and married Dean Leslie Lealie on April 30 1910. She belonged to Knox Presbyterian Georgetown Scotch Block Circle Knox Home Brothers and was remembered for selfless thoughts. She left a husband five sisters a brother and many nieces and nephews and a wide circle of friends.
A British recipient Mrs Grace Fuller of Cliftonville Kent writes that parcels from the Woman's Association of the United Church arrived in excellent condition and provided essential points for food. She notes rationing limits and expresses appreciation for the care and kindness shown. The letter reflects wartime hardship and hope for better times ahead.
