Halton County Council elects Warden and organizes committees

The inaugural Halton County Council met January 24 at Milton Court House. Warden-elect W W Robinson Oakville was unanimously chosen. George R Harris Burlington declined. Standing committees were named for Finance Education Printing County Buildings Special Communications Railways Legislation Agriculture County Bridges Old Age Pensions and Good Roads with Harris as Chairman of Good Roads and a proposal to reduce its membership failed.

Local Interest Returned Home From Hospital

Mr. Chas. Spiers, seriously injured a month ago, has returned home from the hospital. He is able to take short walks about town each day and is gradually gaining strength but still suffers considerably from the injury.

Acton Defeats Burlington 4-1 In Hockey Showdown

Acton topped Burlington 4 to 1 in Milton as Burlington, short on ice and practice, fought hard with Lee in goal. Acton netted in the second period and added two more before Guelph used a long drive to pull ahead 3-2, then sealed the win with a late goal.
