Acton Junior hockey beat Guelph 2 0 on Friday the thirteenth to end a run of bad luck and stay in playoff contention. Holloway stood out in goal while Greer and Walters supplied the winning scorers with a strong defensive effort from Guelph. Guelph fought back late but Acton held firm as Spooner earned honors for his stick work and back checking.

The finance report itemized several payments totaling 482.87 and a request to allow an art guild exhibit at the continuation school was approved. regular meetings set for the first Tuesday each month at seven o clock.

Nassagaweya Council Holds First Meeting in 1933
Nassagaweya Township council, elected Reeve Duncan Campbell with Councillors Bell Finney Gordon and Robertson, met January 9 and began 1933 business. They approved accounts for Drs. Carbett and Black and others, appointed officers, adopted a road grant application of 8811.82, divided inspections into four sections, and authorized borrowing from the Bank of Nova Scotia. Levi Elsley was reappointed hall caretaker.

Short Course Students Toronto Excursion Highlights
The Three Months' School students from Lincoln Wentworth and Halton counties joined a large group for a day trip to Toronto. Buses left Acton at 8 AM and returned after a full program visiting Loblaw Groceteria, Eaton's, the Union Stock Yards, and the Canadian Meat Packers plant. The day featured speeches by Hon. F. L. Kennedy and Mr. Pitman, a supper at Ford Hotel, and a theatre visit at the Imperial Theatre.
