Grand Jury Reports Inadequate Halton County Facilities
The Halton County Grand Jury reviewed county buildings and found multiple deficiencies. They cited overcrowded spaces in the Family Court and Children’s Aid building, inadequate jail facilities, and a need for a second jail staircase. The panel recommended moving the Registry Office to the new Court House and urged establishing a mental health unit with proper holding facilities. Their report will go to the Attorney General and County Council.
