One of the worst blizzards in years began Tuesday morning and worsened through the afternoon. Buses out of Toronto were canceled, highways blocked by 10 foot drifts, and train service was severely delayed. Warden J M McDonald and ex Warden Amos Mason were marooned in Milton until Wednesday while farmers spent the day clearing roads. Sleighs horses and walking remained the common rural transit.

Manpower plans consider civilian farm labor shift
Cabinet weighs amendments to place labor in civilian work for farmers and the unfit for military service. A proposed rule would allow off season farm employment for 60 days without work permits to ease regional shortages. St Alban's Vestry Marks Year of Progress and Debt Free Status
The St Alban's Congregation held its annual vestry meeting on Monday January 18. The financial report showed the church debt free with obligations met and funds for morigmane ele charged and missionary needs managed. Warden changes included George Chapman retiring as Church Warden and H G Ricchle as Rector's Warden for 1933. B W Pargeter elected for a seventh year. Oake t elected Lay Delegate to the Diocesan Synod for three years. Reports from Women's Auxiliary St Alban's Guild and Sunday School were very satisfactory. The rector noted 1942 had the most baptisms in parish history with 27 and 6 burials. There are 68 women on the honor roll, many overseas. Memorials soon to be placed in church. Attendance rising. members must complete the required communicant counts to remain in good standing. Plans set for extensive interior repairs to the Rectory in the new year. Rev E A Brooks presided for the sixth time as Rector and appreciation was voiced for faithful work done for the parish.

Blind man dies from injuries after street collision
Hugh McKay, totally blind, died at General Hospital in Guelph after a Monday accident at Norman McEachern's Main Street garage. He collided with Masales Dairy delivery truck rear while the truck backed out, was knocked down, and later succumbed to chest injuries and broken ribs despite initial signs of improvement.
