Open intermediate hockey in the local arena featured Acton defeating Guelph 5 2 in a fast game. Last Thursday evening the 1938 council and municipal officers plus press guests met at the home of Reeve and Mrs. FB McCutcheon. A delightful chicken dinner followed by social mingling featured prizes for first and second in cribbage won by Connecor Chapman and Editor GQ A Dills. Councillor A Mason thanked Reeve McCutcheon for hospitality and for organizing the gathering. Flowers were given to the Reeve and Mrs. McCutcheon.
