Acton and Wokwood curlers met in Sein tor Chambers on Tuesday to adopt plans for the season. The Rink Committee chair Mr. Chapman urged coordination toward revival of curling activity and announced a start date of Tuesday the 17th at 7:90 pm. New and existing members should bring rocks or borrow gear, with a nominal per game charge and rocks available for those without equipment.

Inaugural Niassagaweya Council Meets in 1649
The first Niassagaweya Council met January 1649 with members Steeve, Mr George Goldyn, councilors, and others who subscribed to the usual declaration. They adopted minutes, read correspondence, and noted wills. Delegates were chosen for the Ontario Association of Rural Municipalities Convention. Accounts were approved for treasurer payments including election, road vouchers, hospital, and printing. By-laws set annual expenditures and a bank loan plan. The clerk was instructed to subscribe to Municipal World, and signatures were affixed to a Highway Department grant petition. The meeting adjourned.
