Cubs Scouts Hoist Six Tons of Paper in Drive
Acton Cubs and Scouts collected 12 600 pounds of paper in a day long drive. The magazines were loaded into a truck and sent to Guelph. Seven boys and leaders completed the final leg of the day’s work. Prices for scrap paper improve the drive’s profitability. another drive is planned in two months.

The Public School Home and School Association monthly meeting featured a concert by the Lorne Scots Band led by conductor A Perrott. The program ranged from light opera to This Old House with songs by Harry Lauder. Two road accidents reported on No. 7 Highway east of the district left over $1,000 in damage. A. Mc Kay of Silvercreek lost control Sunday evening and hit a telephone pole after claiming he was blinded by a headlight. $200 damage and no injuries. Monday morning near Silvercreek Roger Clark of Toronto collided with a second truck driven by Stanley Lyon of Georgetown. first vehicle about $800 damage, second about $10.
