Plowing Match Set for Wellington County in Ontario
Directors of the Ontario Plowmen's Association chose Wellington County as the site for this year’s international plowing match. The event will run near Fergus from the Beatty farm stretching 2 500 acres toward Etora with Guelph fourteen miles away. Several other bids were presented. William Newman suggested an afternoon finish at four and an exhibition of horses after the contest. He also proposed a tug of war between eight men and two horses to enliven the event.
