Knox Ladies' Aid Holds February Meeting at Knox Church
Mrs Wm McLeod preached at the Knox Ladies Aid gathering in the church Tuesday afternoon. Airs Debbie Lanpin and Mr RL Davidson led the worship. Treasurer Mrs S Matthews reported year end funds. Plans for pastor Mot Loll visit to Iedia in February were announced. Members volunteered for luncheon visits and a home baking sale with tea. Conveners were selected and a social in the basement kitchen followed. Mrs ROL Davidson thanked the committee for lunch preparations.

Footings Pour for HK Potter Industry Underway
Acton Fire Department aided in a $50,000 barn fire at the Larne and Fred Walker chicken farm near Milton. Firefighters arrived after 1045 hours, battled intense heat, pumped water, and contained the blaze while nearby property and young stock were threatened. Meanwhile, footings for the new HK Potter industry building were poured with over 15 workers on site and steel delivery expected early March.

Aluminum van ruck bin transport tipped on Highway 7 collision
The aluminum van of an Inter-City ruck bin transport tipped Saturday evening after slamming into a Department of Highways plow on Highway 7 at Salvercreek Hill. Damage to the cab and box was estimated at $1,200. plow truck damage minor. Driver Victor Gryminaky of Arias Ontario tried to avoid the crash but the plow’s box hit the transport. Fred Laing Acton was the plow driver.
