Final Meeting of 36 Council on Shoe Factory Payments
At the final meeting of the 36th Council on Monday evening presided by Reeve Harrison the Finance Committee recommended payments totaling 683.26 to various individuals and firms. A company paid 1000.00 by cheque asked to be relieved of further payments due to building equipment. council agreed. Integrating actions included enforcement against vandalism in YW Field facilities and leasing decisions for an arena booth at 15.00. The Clerk was instructed to publish tax delinquent notices. indigent patient costs were confirmed. and taxes deemed uncollectible were written off. The meeting closed with year-end appreciation from the Reeve.

The Sunday School at Acton United Church hosted a six pm Christmas supper presided by Superintendent A T Brown. Teachers plus helpers served a cafeteria style meal while Botty Gibzon and Jule Vincent performed duets and slides illustrated early life of jeans. Santa Claus appeared courtesy of Xinead Coles as Miss Witty Garage received a tray and sweets. Bonne and T B Lamb earned perfect attendance awards.
