Huge tank stalls on Main St crossing new Acton incident
A large low-slung float carrying a steel tank for Micro Plastics became jammed on the Main St railway crossing in Acton Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Lou Bonnette sped to warn the station agent Charlie Perry, who alerted the yard engineer and halted a freight train. Cliff West of Stoney Creek reported a smooth trip until the crossing impasse. Rescue efforts failed as the float remained wedged between the tracks at the crossing.

Acton OPP laid seven liquor charges on Friday and Saturday. In another incident, a Crewsons Corners shopper reported seven bottles of liquor stolen from her car in the IGA parking lot around 6 p.m. Friday.
