Acton observes Christmas Sunday with services and messages in churches. The Rink opened Friday with free skating and a large crowd enjoyed music by Acton Citizens' Band. St Joseph's Church held a Sunday School concert with a joyous program. The Canadian National Railways named a new agent, William Middleton, at Acton, succeeding H. Holmes. Knox Church Ladies Aid hosted the choir banquet with a generous menu. Conan Doyle’s The Lost World film adaptation screens at Wonderland Theatre. George Cowie, a blacksmith shop owner, was injured by a horse kick and remains recovering. New Ontario motor license plates debut with a $5 price cut. Baptist Sunday School concert drew a full church and featured recitations, songs, and a Christmas tableau. Charles Holmes listed his Vancouver move, with Ernest Cripps taking over Holmes’s business. The United Church Sunday School entertained with a Christmas program, ending with a decorated tree and Santa distributing fruit and candy.

Three Hilson brothers Matthew Isaac and Harry all of Nassagaweya pleaded guilty in Milton County Judge Elliot's court to burglarizing Tomilleo Mascia's Milton Heights general store on October 31. They were released on suspended sentence with two hundred dollar bonds, one year good behavior, and costs eight dollars each. Mascia later fined four hundred dollars and sixty five dollars costs for possessing liquor outside a private dwelling.
The annual High School function at the Town Hall featured a diverse program. Elgin Gamble gave the chairman's address and students performed music and drama including O Canada and Economical Boomerang. Meryl Grindell read Cattle Thief while Miss Marjorie Switzer played piano and Frank Cook led the promenades during the social hour.
Graduates, students and friends gather in the Senate Chamber as a committee outlines plans for the university centennial celebration on October 6, 7 and 8. The group reviews proposed events and timelines, with further details to be finalized at the next meeting.
The Huntsville Forester reports a former member donated a pipe organ to Trinity United Church Huntsville. Mr W E Hutcheson announced the gift at the last Sunday service, promising to withhold the donor’s name until dedication likely in March. The gift covers organ and installation costs.
The Right Reverend Lord Bishop of Niagara Dr Owen led the ordination of Rev. Philip A Sawyer to the priesthood at St Alban's Acton on St Thomas Day. Archdeacon Scovil delivered the sermon and several clergymen attended the solemn service. The Bishop urged the candidate to uphold dignity and duties of a priest and receive the Holy Ghost. Mrs Sawyer and Mrs Dunbar hosted the visiting clergy afterward.
The Postmaster General’s report lists 12 439 post offices up 63, a net revenue of 31 024464.22, expenditures 52 477848. Tens, and 6 821 370 postal notes paid totaling 15 340 056.11. It cites 79 178 money order depositors and 24 036 668.99 in savings bank deposits.
Plans were made at a conference of the Municipal Council Public School Board and Hydro Commission to install a complete electric lighting system across the High and Public Schools. Previous lighting was only in basement and entrance. A series of local notices followed including various civic items and community events.
