County Council Ends Year With Resolutions Approvals
Halton County Council held its final 1948 meeting at the Court House. Items included board appointments for Oakville Trafalgar High School Burlington Nelson High School and North Halton boards. A Treleaven Hospital account of 2130.06 was assumed by the council and repairs to the Judge's Chambers were funded. Other county budgets salaries and welfare notes were approved with several resolutions sent to provincial bodies for consideration.

Eramosa Council Finishes Business of 99th Year
The Eramosa Township Council met in Rockwood with full attendance and reeve presiding. They ordered $5000 payments to Eramosa School Board trustees, reviewed unemployment relief settlements, discussed cemetery and society correspondences, leased farm buildings to Peerless Construction, struck $2000 dog taxes from the 1948 roll, offered wolf and lama bounties and dog-killing rewards, authorized tax collection actions, and deferred athletic grant requests. The meeting adjourned in January.
