New Flushing Hose Debated by Public Attitudes Committee
At Acton council on November 19 the need for a new sewer flushing hose was raised. The existing hose, bought secondhand from Toronto last year, leaked at hydrants. About 600 feet of hose is needed. Superintendent Lambert noted sewers were not crushed and two bed units were full. Council to consider options with bids from Truck Engineering Ltd and Smith Bros, choosing the cheaper. Other items included transformer handling, disposal plant alarm repairs, and temporary fixes to the primary dig and sludge hopper. New school sewer and water services were installed. A swimming-pool service was connected behind the meter. Numerous accounts were approved for payment.
