Elections in Halton centres produced small voter turnouts with acclamations filling many 1954 posts. Nassagaweya named a service reeve in one contest. E Tyler elected mayor of Acton in 1955 with 616 votes cast on the by law to expand the Public Utilities Commission from three to five members. Robert Al Fred Carlisle died in Acton on December 2 and will be honored with a funeral service at Victor B Rumsey Funeral Home on December 4. Interment is in Hunley's Cemetery Hillsburgh with Arm strong Funeral Home in charge and pallbearers listed. Carlisle, a longtime resident of Esques, was born in 1924 and worked in Rag Dutness before retirement. He was predeceased by four brothers and leaves a sister Mrs Robert Petterson Mary of Limehouse.
