Giant tarantula found in bananas at local store
On Saturday Frank VanWyck found a live tarantula in a bunch of bananas at Carroll's. The spider measured 6 1/2 inches across with an 11 inch body and withstood chloroform and 400 volts of electricity before it stopped moving. Neill McNabb delivered the specimen to the University of Toronto for comparison, noting it was larger than any in their collection.
