William Beasley of Toronto paid 801.50 in Brampton court for operating a common gaming house on Centre Road Peel County and for liquor on the premises a permit holder Toronto address. Fines chiefly 570 for 38 persons found in plus 200 for gaming and 100 with 31.80 for liquor. Gambling equipment including roulette wheel two blackjack tables and chuckaluck plus liquor were confiscated and the machinery ordered destroyed.

Acton High Literary Society Elects Officers
Acton High School Literary Society elected officers on Thursday with John Drake as president and Norman Wright as vice president. Patricia Harrop will be secretary, Marie Clayton treasurer, Donalda McPhall editor, and Betty Watts assistant editor. A large crowd attended the bingo at Town Hall, organized by Acton Fire Brigade, filling the auditorium and ground floor rooms. Eighteen prizes were distributed.
