Minor Sports town hockey league may house ten teams
At a post dinner meeting in Legion Hall executives and supporters discussed winter plans for Minor Sports hockey. They expect up to ten teams this season from six last year and will place players on teams through early contact with George Hollinger and Herb Woods. The league already has a midget and bantam entry in OH A play, with a deadline past. Vic Masters and Al Irwin attended the OH A convention in Toronto representing Acton, and the current executive remains in office with Herb Woods as president and George Hollinger secretary.

John W. Brethour of Nassagaweya wins the Bretiour Challenge Trophy for Wiltshire Sides of Bacon Hogs at the Royal Winter Fair, marking the first time Halton county claims the prize. On Tuesday evening William Dron of Acton reported being assaulted and robbed of $6.00 by two youths. Kenneth Ellis and Fred Currie, both of Acton, were arrested and charged with robbery. Currie also faces a charge of drinking under age 21.
