Cement Floor Installed at Arena Sets Stage for Year‑Round Use
About 340 tons of cement were poured at the arena with 178 yards of cement and trap rock mixture laid to a four and a half inch depth. Trap rock shipped from Havlock and mixed in Georgetown. plastics laid and foundations prepared over weeks. The new floor enables year round use for lacrosse, wrestling, roller skating and other events at the Acton Fall Fair.

D. McGilloway Hooks Pike With Makeshift Gear
Danny McGilloway, age unknown, fishing with improvised gear a line a hook and worm on Fury Lake Dome nabbed a large pike.
