Acton Girls End First Season With Playoff Run
Acton’s first girls softball team exited the playoffs after a tough series with Gary’s, despite a season that showed their ability to beat any league rival. Veteran manager Charlie Thomson and coach Frank Spielvogel faced disappointment as key pitchers were benched and players suspended for uneven scheduling, yet the squad drew large crowds at Wallace Park and earned praise for their skill and effort. Next season looms as a renewed challenge for Acton’s pioneers in the Halton County league.
