Acton 1966 Fair Prize Lists Highlight Centerpiece Contests
The 1966 tall fair prize lists were issued last week and are now available. The yellow entry form will anchor exhibitors. The 92 page book places all competition classes beside local merchant ads. Friday features include a parade, Cliff McKay show, Miss Acton Fair crown, and crowning. Saturday adds Junior Horse Show, parade, official opening by Cam McNabb, Drum and Bugle Corps, and a closing dance. A new Homemaker Special with a top prize of 10 dollars replaces last year’s jam and jelly contest to stimulate interest in ladies’ work across categories such as flowers, sewing, cookies, preserves, and crafts.

Bandsmen toil to finish hall for Expo 67
Acton Citizens' Band members labor nightly on Wal lace Avenue to complete a new band hall. The main auditorium is ready though some rooms need finishing. Work, mainly voluntary, continues as acoustics, paneling, and tiling proceed. They hope to perform at Expo 67 in Montreal next year.

Court docket this Monday in Milton court
This Monday 13 persons charged by Acton OPP Detachment appeared in Milton court before magistrate Kenneth Langdon. An Acton man was fined 200 dollars for assaulting a policeman plus 50 dollars court costs for assaulting a local restaurant owner. A suspended sentence for six months including 50 dollars court costs was imposed. Ten speeding offenders paid 135 dollars in fines plus 22 dollars court costs. Another offender was charged with failing to stop and paid 45 dollars including court costs.
