Ward 1 Esquesing Township paid tribute to 24 men who served in the 1939 45 war and welcomed their return at a Milton Fairgrounds ceremony. Watches and keepsakes were presented to service members and a clock to Pte David Harrop in memory of the fallen.

A well attended wedding shower was held at Mrs D Riches home on Wednesday July 26 in honor of Mrs Sheila Gib aud now Mrs Alfred Jocques. Guests enjoyed decorations lace and petal table and a pink and white wagon display of gifts. Prizes were won by several guests and Mrs Jocques thanked attendees for their kindness and gifts.

Acton Fair directors announced new features for 1946 including two prize classes for best home and garden and for most improved grounds near Acton. Judges will tour the town with entries required next year. Trot racing returns to Acton Park on October 4 and 5 with two feature events.

Esquesing Council Passes Road Accounts and By Laws
Esquesing Township Council held its regular meeting on Tuesday August 6th approving road accounts totaling 5141 74. Payments included Municipal World Bells Telephone Ontario Hospital and other items while relief costs stood at 44 05. A by law was read to place the township for 16 and another to distribute railway trust fund interest to school sections. The clerk was told to advertise for a township assessor applications due by August 19th. Council next meets September 3rd.
