Three Car Wrecks In One Summer Hit Rockwood Man
Rockwood resident Fred Edwards, already facing two new car wrecks this summer, had a third mishap when a car driven by Rosas Goodmurphy of Acton struck his parked truck in front of his home. Goodmurphy, who said he swerved to avoid another vehicle driven by William Milne of Rockwood, reported his own old model car was badly damaged.

A four man delegation representing the British Friesian Cattle Society purchased 220 Canadian Holsteins for over half a million dollars. Average price paid was 297 dollars per head with transport to Britain bringing the total to about 2300 dollars delivered. Cattle came from Ontario Quebec Manitoba and Alberta for breeders across Great Britain. Halton supplied seven high class animals including two bulls from Harold Bingham and two daughters of Natvic Rag Apple Sovereign from John Picket. A top bred heifer came from E J Meagher and a heifer by Ross Segeworth with a bull calf by Max Greenberg Freeman.
