The Free Press prints the continuation of the donor list for Acton’s $5 245.00 first phase toward a $10,000 pool project. Citizens like Elliott P. A. and Edwards Goweees appear among many contributors, with pledges aimed at advancing phase one and funding canvass rounds by local business and manufacturing groups.
Acton Athletic Club sponsors three juvenile players for a four day baseball school in Thamesville from August 23 to 27. Harry Lawson John Mowat and Harold Townmeyer are the chosen participants. Pittsburgh Pirates organize the program providing professional coaching and training.

The couple honeymoon in Pointsworth with congratulations from Vancouver and Deal England.

The Royal Canadian Air Force reports very gratifying recruiting results for the past year but notes about 1,000 groundcrew vacancies remain to reach the authorized strength of 12,000. New policy allows enlistment in technical trades with one year less than senior matriculation, with training at the Aylmer Ontario academy after medicals. Groundcrew applicants need three years of high school or related civilian experience. ex RCAF tradesmen return to their former trades if vacancies exist.
A four stores high calorimeter building at the Government Fuel Research Station Greenwich London tests domestic heating appliances for maximum efficiency. It features four calorimeter cabinets with copper and plywood panels and automatic heat distribution recording. A separate anecdote follows about a man not assisting his wife, reflecting social humor.
Acton Ints defeated Milton by 16 to 9 to even the Halton County playoff series at one game each. Lore Masters led Acton with a four for six effort as Acton's big fourth and seventh innings produced most of the runs.
