Brown Couple Celebrate Golden Wedding in Acton
Mr and Mrs A T Brown marked their golden wedding with a Monday August 6 celebration at their John and Mill Street home. About 125 guests attended over the weekend. flowers cards and gifts came from many friends. They wed in 1901 at the bride’s father W H B Walker’s home on Bower Ave. and honeymooned in Muskoka. The Browns ran a drug store on Mul Street until 1944. he trained in Teeswater then studied at the Toronto College of Pharmacy 1893 1894. Both longtime active Acton residents. Mrs Brown led the United Church WMS and taught Sunday School while Mr Brown supervised Sunday School for ~40 years and serves as honorary session member. He collected stamps and excelled in photography earning recognition and serving as Acton council member and World Wide Photographic Exchange vice president. They had one son who died in infancy. the couple remains active and still makes friends.

Presentation Night Honors Acton Couple at Davidson Home
A surprise party for Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Mason was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. FR. L. Davidson in Acton. About 38 friends attended. Euchre prizes went to Mrs. A. M. McPherson and Mr. C. Leishman. Messages of congratulations were offered by Joe Whitham and Neil McNabb. The couple received a satin cushion and hassock, and a lunch followed the gathering.

13th Reunion at Stanley Park Reveres Family Ties
The 13th Leslie reunion gathered 1450 people at Stanley Park Erin on Saturday July 28. Wilfrid Leslie led a short business session after dinner while minutes were read. A moment of silence honored the departed, a new family tree book was shared, and officers were asked to return two years. Attendees from California and Detroit traveled far. the oldest attendees were Mrs. C Shook 85 and J H Reed 84. The largest family was the Aitkens of Acton with five children. A program of sports followed, and prizes were awarded in multiple races. The event closed in good weather with many returning volunteers and relatives.

Scouts Hold Camp At National Park
Scouts from First Ae wee and leaders camped near Honey Harbor in two tents at a national park site. They swam, canoed and did camp crafts, with daily supplies from Honey Harbor and several visitors stopping by.
