Jeweller B D Rachlin and George Robertson bought the former post office on Mill Street after Crown Assets Disposal Corp refused to disclose the price, reportedly 16125. They will renovate for professional and small business offices with tenants lined up. The caretaker will maintain the town clock and heating remains unchanged as work awaits closing.

Firefighters Top Parade at Teeswater Convention
Acton Fire Department placed first in the parade during the Firemen's Convention in Teeswater. They narrowly missed two other firats, with ladder rescue in 27 seconds, Teeswater 28 seconds, and Acton sixth in the hose race. Harold Townsley led delegates in the event.

Esquesing Moves to Modern Municipal Building
Esquesing township staff moved from Stewarttown to a new $71,450 municipal building on the seventh line of Esquesing. Clerk K C Lindsay and staff began operations within an hour and a half, with only old records moved. The building features brick and steel exterior, mahogany interior, and expanded offices including council chambers and vaults. Public meetings remain in the old hall awaiting an opening date.
