A nostalgic guide invites readers to explore Halton County’s scenic back roads from Acton to Milton. It highlights Crowson’s Corners, Briar Springs Scout Reserve, Knatterball memories, Rockville’s 19th century hotel, and the Halton Reforestation Project. The piece blends local history with a drive along old routes, noting landmarks like the elm tree, centennial celebrations, and battlefield-era ties. It ends by urging a slower, observant journey through Nassagaweya and adjacent townships.

Phantom Railway Declared Defunct After 46 Years On Paper
The Lachine Jacques Cartier and Maisonneuve line, dating to early 20th century plans, faded from feasibility as the Grand Trunk and Canadian Northern lines merged into Canadian National Railway. The project endured on paper through multiple charter efforts before corporate restructuring erased its official identity amid postwar railway consolidations.
