The Forbes family of bootleggers faces continued penalties under the Ontario Temperance Act and the Inland Revenue Act. Jim Forbes was arrested on a late night delivery route spanning Milton to Palgrave, with wife accompanying trips. He is jailed at Milton awaiting trial as officers Reevely and Fewtrell are lauded for persistence in enforcing liquor laws.

Authorities renewed permits for hotels restaurants grocery stores and clubs to sell 44 beer and issued new licenses covering the upcoming fiscal year required in the owners’ possession to continue lawful sales.
The Acton council, presided by Reeve Mason, considered paying for repainting the waterworks tank. Industrial Products Co. proposed two outside coats for 250 dollars, or one coat inside and outside for 175 dollars, and won the contract for two outside coats and one inner coat. Council also addressed nuisance from slaughterhouses on Victoria Avenue and set penalties on tax arrears.
The T K L Coach Line began operating in Acton last week and runs on schedule despite poor roads. Passengers praise comfort and reliability, with coaches often full on each trip.
A Hastings County retrospective highlights Luther Carnell and three other surviving Commissioners from twenty five years ago. Carnell, once Reeve of Bixby Township and Gravel Roads Committee chair, helped build superior white gravel roads and the House of Refuge in Belleville.
