Maynard residents and relatives are highlighted in a long list of weekend visits and furloughs. Local service members from Co. I return from Westfield and other camps, while townsfolk travel to Worcester, Quincy, and Hartford for fairs and holidays.
A long list of local outings visits and changes in Concord. Residents travel to Portsmouth Revere and Lowell while others host guests from Linden Chelsea and Ver mont. The Trinitarian Sunday school resumes September 4 and the Whitney Coal office hours shift. Local marriages engagements and personnel moves are noted along with library building plans and a Concord Grange roll call.
The first fall meeting of the WGs 3 U was held at Mrs. Rolfe’s home last Tuesday afternoon. Candidates were chosen to attend the Watertown convention on the 26th. They discussed buying a house in Ayer for soldiers’ use, with the Concord order already contributing $50. The gathering was described as very pleasant.
West Acton community gossip lists visits across Massachusetts and nearby states. Residents travel to Maine Vermont New Hampshire and Nova Scotia for vacations and family events. Local hosts include Mrs. Edith Watson and Wm Costello's former house occupant. Names include A Stanley Hall Lucy Staples F C Nash Mildred Moore Otis Mott and many others.
