Maynard visitor Miriam Kempton stops at Lake Sunapee New Hampshire while Mrs. Fred Axford and daughter visit Rockville Connecticut. A Dorchester birth. Many residents travel or gather at beaches and events including wills, furloughs, and military postings.
Miss Ethel Murphy visits relatives in Waltham and Marjorie Mapurn becomes a public school teacher in Maynard. Local residents travel to Acton Centre for a social dance, and the Concord fire department fights a July 24 blaze at the New England Nursery Co. plant in West Bedford.

Mr and Mrs Fred Miller welcome a baby son born Thursday. Several residents travel and host relatives to Cape Cod Milton Boston Winthrop and Marshfield. Edith Hobbs heads to Winthrop for August.
Miss Edith Cudahy of Allston spent the weekend in Bedford while Miss Frances Prendergast visited relatives in town. Thomas Butler joined the American Express Co in Boston. Chaiford Chiahis operates as a motorman in Lexington and Boston St. Roy. Miss Edna Tubman of West Milton moved in with the Bowers on Slartford Street. Mrs. Walter King, formerly of Bedford, visited sister Mrs. Myron Waite on Cres Cont Ave. Miss Zelma Wetherbee returned home on Crescent Ave after a two week Windsortor vacation. A noted play of the season, The Parish Dries, was staged in Lexington wick. The Catholic Truth Guild plans its divisest meeting in Bedford Wednesday evening.
Fire at the New England Steserioes nurseries damaged principal shipping buildings and threatened the entire plant until aid arrived from Lexington and Concord. Fire chief Blake noted the lack of water hampered suppression and hose lines were laid from nearby brooks. Officials expect rebuilding and urge extending water mains on Conca do to prevent future losses.
A late night wheat alarm project sparked a riot call as two boys visiting on Sprines rd were reported missing. Citizens searched diligently but the youths, said to be headed back to Boston, had not informed their hosts of plans to return that night.
West Acton notes show The Woman's Relief Corps No held its meeting on the first Monday in August rather than the second Monday during a period of important business. Other items include local purchases and vacations by residents such as J Jewett buying a Maxwell car and A M Parker family renting a Lake Hoon cottage for two weeks.
The Assabet Camp Fire girls of Concord camped at the Hem Jock Villa cottage of C G Durkee at Fort Pond. The group included Vera Pierce Helen Hanna Luccy Hlancock Alvena Peterson Muriel Hewett Louise Whitney Bernice Everett Cornelia Hoff Mary Olsen Thelma Olsen Jennie Driscoll and Margaret Whitney. Chaperones were Mrs Fred Hewett of Concord and Miss Irma Durkee of West Acton.
Lucinda J. Carr of Sudbury died July 3. Her will dated October 21, 1907 leaves $950 rest estate and $450 personal property to sister Charlotte M. Carr of Sudbury as executrix. Heirs at law are sister Lee M. Carr and brother Merrick Carr of Sudbury. Will returnable at East Cambridge September 10.
