Concord Students Stage Two Plays at High School
Concord High School pupils presented Iwo Crooks and A Lady and Two Milizareths under Miss Gertrude Rideout. The 47 Workshop comedy featured Olive Grierne as a paralyzed Mrs. Sims-Vane and William Delaney as Miller, with Sally Weadock and Mary Chase delivering strong performances. The Elizabeth Saye drama showcased Mary Chase, Mary Murray, and Fritz Winblad in a period romance adaptation. Musicians Claire Kent and Elsa Lindstrom accompanied the performances, drawing praise for talent and direction.

Fr Crowley, longtime Maynard pastor, dies in Winthrop
Rev. James Albert Crowley, pastor of St John the Evangelist in Winthrop, died Sunday after months of illness at 40 Winthrop Street. Born February 15, 1872 in Concord, he lived in Maynard since 1887 and served in parishes in Boston, Wakefield, South Boston, Plymouth, and Winthrop. He led St Bridget's Temperance Society and was active in civic life. He is survived by brother Edward and sister Ellen Crowley. Funeral in Winthrop with high Mass at St John the Evangelist and interment in Maynard.
